So this week...

I have a 15 page research paper on Social Security reform due Thursday at 4:30… that I just started on Saturday. I really wouldn’t be worried if it was on health care reform or some other subject that I’m comfortable with, but it isn’t… I mean, I know a lot about the future projections of Social Security, the whole it’s going to blow up in our faces in the next 20-30 years thing, but the nuts and bolts? Not so much. In the past days I have learned a lot, but I still have a stack of research so dig through… I love being a Poli Sci major, but a lot of our papers and subject matters are so dense, complex and partisan that you need so many sources to make sure you have one detail right…

So anyway, to force myself to stick to my plan I will publish it on tumblr for the world to see:

Monday:

  • Library from 11:30-2:30
  • Lunch 2:30-2:50
  • Class 2:50-5:55
  • Work 6-8
  • Library 8-midnight or whenever I finish reading my research

Tuesday

  • Library 11:30-1:50
  • Class 2:20-3:45
  • Working break 3:45-4:30
  • Class 4:30-6
  • Dinner 6-6:30
  • Class 6:30-8
  • Library 8-whenever I have the paper completely organized and a decent amount written (2.5-3 pages)

Wednesday

  • Library 11:30-2:30
  • Lunch 2:30-2:50
  • Class 2:50-6
  • Library 6-midnight or whenever the paper is completely written

Thursday

  • Library by 12:30
  • Revise paper
  • Start on Oral Comm presentation/relax and not have a panic attack
  • Pass in paper at 4:30
  • Curl into fetal position and start sobbing

Dear Obams,

I know you will never read my Poli Sci paper, but I just wanted to apologize for the huge amount of bashing I will be throwing your way. It’s not you— my professor is conservative and I need to ace this baby… so yeah, I’m going to be tearing you a new one for not solving the Social Security crisis yet. God, what have you been doing in that White House??? Oh yeah… that whole trying to fix the economy, ending torture, creating a public health care option thing… well… that’s no excuse. We should all be riding magical unicorns to Narnia at this point.  It’s been a year! Well… since you were elected… only a little over 10 months since you actually because president… I mean, since January I… umm… well, I haven’t done anything, actually. But John McCain! He… umm… hasn’t done anything either… But Sarah Palin! She became a grandma! And wrote a book! Oh, yeah… and she quit her job. Right… well… Step up! We expect a cure for cancer by next Friday.

Much love,

Me

I love reading Heritage Foundation articles...

… because it is some of the most biased, one-sided writing I’ve ever come in contact with and is the closest thing to propaganda I can think of… and every article ends with “we need to put an end to partisan politics.” Uh… you first?

You are an adult. Along with that title comes accountability. You alone are in control of your actions, your attitude, your decisions and ultimately, your happiness or your misery.

I need this tattooed on my forehead… preferably backwards so I can see it in the mirror.

"Late" night conversation with my mother...

  • Me: Hey, sorry I'm waking you up
  • Mom: Whaaaaa?
  • Me: I just thought you'd like to know the healthcare bill passed.
  • Mom: Government?
  • Me: What?
  • Mom: In the government....?
  • Me: Well... yeah... that's kind of the only one.

"On this vote, the ‘yeas’ are 220, the ‘nays’ are 215. The bill is passed."

House Speaker NANCY PELOSI, on the passage of H.R. 3962 tonight by the House of Representatives. (via inothernews) (via notthatkindagay)

Stuff like this makes me miss DC. Shit like this was like a football game in DC. Instead of wondering if the Redskins won, people in the bars would be freaking out over bills, etc. Miss u DC.

Oh and also: WOOT.
